Effective November 1, 2021, the Lake Worth branch will close daily from 1:30 to 2:30 for lunch, as do the Hurst, Downtown and Arlington branch locations.  The volume of in-person transactions has dropped considerably at our branches since the onset of COVID.   In turn, we've experienced increased usage of our online and mobile services, so the need for hiring additional staff to cover lunch periods is not necessary at this time.  For in-person transactions during those hours, the Plaza location is open as well as multiple Shared Branch locations.

US Mail Delays

The United States Postal Service (USPS) made recent changes to USPS First-Class Delivery standards, effective October 1, 2021.  The three-day delivery standard for first-class mail may now take up to 5 days to reach its destination. (And maybe even longer with current pandemic complications)  This includes payments you send to us via check, or even some payments processed through another institution's online bill pay system.  Be aware of these delays and regularly monitor your payment activity.  This may also affect delays in the mail you receive from TCCU, such as notices, mailed account statements, checks and debit card plastics.  

Additionally, these delays are impacting payments being mailed to make TCCU Mastercard payments.  As a reminder, the new mailing address for Mastercard payments is:  MasterCard,   P. O. Box 660493, Dallas, TX 75266-0493.  If you use a bill-pay service, like ePay, update the payment address there as well.  

Helpful Hints:

  • Mail your payments a few days earlier 
  • Switch to eStatements
  • Deposit checks using the mobile app
  • Make TCCU payments by calling us, or in eBanking by selecting Transfers and following the steps
  • Contact us and we can make recommendations to avoid payment delays, specific to your situation

The IRS has begun issuing the Advance Child Tax Credit Payments.  These payments are posted to recipients' accounts as soon as they are received.  For eligibility and other questions regarding Advance Child Tax Credit Payments, visit the IRS website by clicking here. Apple iOS 14.5 and TCCU's Mobile Banking App

Apple has released the third public beta of iOS 14.5. Because this release is still in beta, TCCU's Mobile Banking App is not yet compatible with this release. If you have installed iOS 14.5, you will need to revert to iOS 14.4 to access your accounts via TCCU's Mobile Banking App. If you need help reverting to iOS 14.4, contact Apple directly.

TCCU's President & CEO Chairs New Small Credit Union Support Organization

TCCU's President & CEO, Lily Newfarmer, along with twelve other female CEOs of small credit unions across the United States ($300 million and under), recently launched the Credit Union Women's Leadership Alliance (CUWLA).  This collaboration offers various forms of support to female CEOs of small credit unions nationwide.  You can read more about it here.

Account deposits and payments that were mailed in, or deposited into our night depositories during the recent weather-related closures, will be posted on Monday, February 22nd, with backdates applied, and late fees, if any, waived.  We thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time.

TCCU's Virtual Annual Business Meeting will be held on March 25, 2021, at 6:30 P.M.  Members may obtain log-in credentials to join this virtual, business-only meeting by emailing Monica Garcia, by noon on that date.  You may obtain a copy of TCCU's 2020 Annual Report and Minutes from the 2019 Annual Business meeting on our website prior to the live event.  **There will be no door prizes or giveaways at this meeting**

Dormant Accounts

What Causes a Dormant Account?

An account is considered dormant when there has been no activity (deposit or withdrawal) for 12 months. Once an account becomes dormant, it becomes subject to being reported as unclaimed and escheatable to the State of Texas.  

What Can You Do to Prevent a Dormant Account?

  1. Keep your account active by making at least one deposit, withdrawal or transfer from your account per year
  2. Set up a Direct Deposit
  3. Use your ATM/Debit or Credit Cards
  4. Conduct regular transactions on your account

If your account is currently in dormancy status, you will need to conduct a transaction on your account to prevent your account from being reported as unclaimed. 

Escheated Funds

Any account that is considered dormant for three years or more is required to be escheated to the State of Texas

  • The Credit Union will make necessary attempts to contact dormant accounts before the funds are escheated 
  • This makes it essential to have updated addresses and phone numbers on your account(s)
  • Consider signing up for email notifications in order to receive important messages, such as account notifications

The Nominating Committee appointed by TCCU's Board of Directors, has submitted incumbents Alan Thomas, Craig Maxwell, and Tom Spencer, for election to the Board of Directors for 3-year terms.

Update to Funds Availability (July 1, 2020)

Effective July 1, 2020, TCCU's Funds Availability Policy changed.  Attached is the updated policy with the changes noted.

Reopening Our Doors - Monday, May 18th (May 15, 2020)

As we prepare to reopen, bear in mind that branch locations, as well as the hours at each location, are subject to change, dependent upon the status of current pandemic conditions and building accessibility. 

In accordance with current guidelines, we will limit the number of guests in our lobbies and ask that all visitors abide by the 6 foot distancing recommendation. Health officials continue to recommend the wearing of masks or other protective coverings in public. We may ask that you lower your mask briefly, for identification purposes. 

We have installed protective barriers at all of our branches and staff will continue to wear PPE, including face masks and gloves. 

All TCCU branches will open on Monday, May 18th, and observe the following hours: 

Arlington: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm; Closed Daily 1:30pm - 2:30pm
Hurst: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm; Closed Daily 1:30pm - 2:30pm
Downtown: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm; Closed Daily 1:30pm - 2:30pm
Lake Worth: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm
Plaza: Monday - Thursday, 9am - 5pm; Friday 8am - 5pm 

All branches open at 9:30 on the 2nd Wednesday of Every Month

A staff member will be present at each of the front doors to provide assistance and monitor the number of guests allowed inside each branch.

The recent outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has the public concerned about this pandemic and the impact it could have on daily financial transactions.
We would like to reassure you that the health, safety and service of our members and staff is always our top priority.
To address these concerns, TCCU has updated our business continuity plan and is taking precautions to deliver on these priorities to ensure stability should there be a global or local interruption of commerce.

Annual Business Rescheduled for May 28, 2020.  

TCCU's Annual Business Meeting has been postponed due to the COVID-19 issue, but is now scheduled to be held on Thursday, May 28, 2020, at 6:30 p.m.  This business only meeting will be held in the Tarrant Plaza building, located at 200 Taylor Street, Fort Worth, Texas - on the 3rd floor. To arrange for adequate seating, please contact Monica Garcia at 817.884.1470, ext. 140, prior to May 22, 2020.
